Administrative Decision No. (93) of 2024
Regarding the Tinting of Passenger Transport Bus Windows in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi
The Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport:
- Having reviewed Law No. (1) of 1974 regarding the reorganization of the government apparatus in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and its amendments,
- And Law No. (19) of 2006 concerning the regulation of taxi transport in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and its amendments,
- And Law No. (30) of 2019 regarding the establishment of the Department of Municipalities and Transport,
- And Emiri Decree No. (3) of 2023 concerning some members of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi,
- And Federal Law No. (21) of 1995 concerning traffic and its amendments,
- And Ministerial Resolution No. (178) of 2017 concerning traffic control rules and procedures and Amendment No. (243) of 2020,
- And the decision of the Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport No. (33) of 2021 concerning the executive regulations for the operation of passenger transport services by bus in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi,
- And based on the requirements of the public interest,
The following has been decided:
Article (1)
All companies and establishments authorized by the Integrated Transport Centre to operate and provide passenger transport activities shall tint the windows of all transport buses. The tinting shall be black with a percentage not exceeding (50%) of the bus's internal visibility level, and shall include only the side and rear windows, not the front windshield, while complying with the legislation and decisions issued in this regard.
Article (2)
The concerned departments at the Integrated Transport Centre shall coordinate with the relevant authorities to ensure that companies and establishments comply with the provisions of this decision in accordance with the established procedures and regulations.
Article (3)
All operators of passenger transport activities by bus shall reconcile their status in accordance with the content of this decision within a period not exceeding three months from the date of its issuance.
Article (3)
This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into effect three months after the date of its issuance, to be acted upon by all concerned parties.
