| Land Transport: |
All modes of ground transportation for persons and goods by any means of land transport, including public transport, school transport, roads, vehicle parking, and related facilities and services. |
| Public Transport: |
Transport designated for individuals and their luggage by various means of transport classified as public transport within the Emirate and to and from it, including transport by buses, trains, metros, trams, taxis, and public maritime transport, as well as the supporting infrastructure such as stations for passengers and vehicle housing, waiting shelters, control centers, loading platforms, workshops, railway lines, and their necessary tracks. |
| Vehicle: |
Any means of land transport designed for transporting persons and goods according to its designated purpose. |
| Public Buses: |
Vehicles operated by the Center or one of its authorized or contracted entities, with a capacity of more than nine passengers each, designed for mass public transport of persons. |
| Train: |
A means of public transport for persons and goods, consisting of a carriage or a group of carriages connected to a locomotive that pulls it on railway lines, magnetic tracks, paved roads, or by wires, powered by electricity or fuel, and operates on specific routes and schedules from one specially equipped station to another. It includes the metro, high-speed train, and tram. |
| Passenger: |
A natural person who boards a means of public transport. A person waiting at designated public transport stops and stations is also considered a passenger. |
| Public Maritime Transport Means: |
Any means designated for public transport of persons and goods within inland waters, including but not limited to what is commonly known as a water bus or water taxi. |
| Public Taxi: |
A vehicle designed for transporting persons for a fare, with a capacity not exceeding nine passengers. |
| Private Hire Vehicle (Limousine): |
A vehicle with standard specifications different from those of public taxis, designed for transporting persons for a fare based on a prior request or agreement with the customer. |
| Vehicle Parking: |
Public and private vehicle parking regulated under the provisions of the aforementioned Law No. (18) of 2009. |
| Goods: |
Materials and live animals transported by land using vehicles or trains according to the approved specifications for each type of goods. |
| Axle Weigh Stations: |
Stations designated for monitoring the weight of goods transport vehicle loads. |
| Traffic Control: |
Electronic and electrical systems and devices, and central computers containing engineering software linked to field devices via a communication network, which analyze traffic data and automatically make necessary adjustments to ensure its continuous operation as required. It includes monitoring traffic flow, managing incidents, and making appropriate decisions based on the monitored data to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance safety levels on the road network. |

The company or sole proprietorship licensed by the Center to operate and provide services for some of the activities undertaken by the Center. |
