Amending certain provisions of Law No. (4) of 1983
Concerning the Regulation of Construction Works (1)
We, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
By virtue of the powers vested in us by the Ruler of Abu Dhabi,
- And having reviewed Law No. (1) of 1974 concerning the reorganization of the governmental apparatus in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as amended by Law No. (5) of 1982,
- And Law No. (2) of 1941 concerning the National Consultative Council, as amended by Law No. (2) of 1980,
- And Law No. (4) of 1983 concerning the Regulation of Construction Works,
And based on the proposal of the Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the approval of the said Council,
We have issued the following Law:
Article (1)
The text of Article (19) of Law No. (4) of 1983 concerning the Regulation of Construction Works shall be replaced by the following text:
«In the event of a violation by the contractor and the engineering office, or either of them, of the provision contained in Article Two of this Law, the violator shall be subject to the penalties stipulated in Article (21), and in the case of a repeated violation, the court may order the closure of the contractor's office or the engineering office for a period of four months. If the violator commits the violation again, the court may order the revocation of the violator's license to practice the profession and permanently prohibit them from carrying out their activity. If the violator is a non-citizen, the court may order their deportation from the country.
This Law shall be implemented and shall come into force from the date of its issuance, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
