Regarding the Ownership of Public Housing for Citizens

- Having reviewed Law No. (1) of 1974 regarding the Reorganization of the Government Apparatus in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and its amendments.
- And Law No. (3) of 2005 regarding the Regulation of Real Estate Registration in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
- And Law No. (19) of 2005 regarding Real Estate Property and its amendments.
- And Law No. (9) regarding the Establishment of the Department of Municipal Affairs.
- And Law No. (10) of 2007 regarding the Municipality and Municipal Council of Abu Dhabi City in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
- And Law No. (11) of 2007 AD regarding the Municipality and Municipal Council of Al Ain City in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
- And Law No. (10) of 2006 AD regarding the Municipality and Municipal Council of the Western Region in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
- And the letter from the Ministry of Presidential Affairs No. (7015/27) dated October 15.
- And based on the requirements of the public interest.
We have decided the following:
Article (1)
All municipalities shall work on granting ownership of public housing to citizens in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, provided that they may not be disposed of by sale or mortgage except after obtaining prior written approval from the Ministry of Presidential Affairs. Applications for disposal shall be submitted to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs counter at the Customer Service Center in each municipality.
Article (2)
This decision shall be effective from the date of its issuance, and shall be communicated to whomever it may concern to act accordingly within their respective capacities.
