Administrative Decision No. (63) of 2003
Regarding Rental Fees for Temporary Sites for Government Projects and Exhibitions
The Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Municipality and Town Planning Department,
- Having reviewed Law No. (1) of 1974 on the Reorganization of the Governmental Body and its amendments.
- And Local Order No. (1) of 1977 regarding Industrial Zones, Exhibitions, and Press Houses.
- And the decisions of the Executive Council (12/A, Session 92) and (19/A, Session 2002/7) concerning industrial lands in Musaffah and private hospitals and schools in various areas.
Has decided the following:
Article (1)
Temporary sites granted by the Department to companies implementing government projects shall be treated as permanent industrial lands in terms of rental value only. The following fees shall be collected:
| 1-1 - Within Abu Dhabi city up to Al Maqtaa and Musaffah bridges |
20 fils per square foot |
| 1-2 - Al Ain-Umm Al Nar Road |
15 fils per square foot |
| 1-3 - Other areas |
10 fils per square foot |
| 1-4 - Press Houses |
5 fils per square foot |
The temporary site's duration shall end upon the project's completion and its handover to the government, whereupon the temporary site will be withdrawn. The company is obligated to hand over the temporary site free of any structures or equipment.
Article (2)
Seasonal, craft, and professional exhibition sites are considered temporary sites. Fees for these sites are collected based on the duration of the exhibition as follows:
2-1 - Exhibition duration from one week up to one month
AED 5,000
2-2 - Exhibition duration from one month up to two months
AED 10,000
2-3 - Exhibition duration from two months up to three months
AED 15,000
2-4 - Exhibition duration from three months up to six months
AED 20,000
- The same fees mentioned above shall apply to exhibition extension periods, according to the duration of the extension.
The exhibition license applicant is obligated to remove all structures, equipment, and installations from the site after the exhibition period ends, otherwise the Department will remove them at the applicant's expense.
Article (3)
Along with the rental value for temporary sites for government projects and exhibitions, a security deposit of AED 5,000 shall be collected. This amount will be refunded to the company implementing the project or exhibition upon presenting a certificate from the competent municipality center confirming that the land is vacant and all structures and installations have been removed after the end of the contract.
Article (4)
This decision shall be effective from the date of its issuance and shall be circulated to the concerned authorities and departments.
